Computer networks

A computer network is a set of devices connected using various communication channels, supported by software enabling data transmission and security within the network. The main purpose of a computer network is to facilitate communication between computer systems and applications – and, in fact, between people. It’s difficult to imagine how any organization – public or private – would be able to function without a computer network.

Why Trecom?

Trecom has built its skills and competence in designing, building, and securing computer networks. We work with local (LAN/SDLAN) and wide area networks (WAN/SDWAN), architecture for data centres and cloud systems (ACI), and wired and wireless networks.

What sets us apart is our ability to build traditional network technologies into a software-defined network (SDN), as well as our comprehensive approach to serving customers – from auditing, design, construction, configuration, and documentation to training, post-implementation support, maintenance, all using the latest technologies (including Cisco Catalyst 9300).

Software Defined Networks

SDN architecture allows for software-based network management and enables administrators to adjust the flow of traffic throughout the network according to changing needs. Networks are centrally managed using programmable SDN controllers that maintain network connections. SDN technology allows network administrators to quickly configure, manage, secure, and optimize network resources using dynamic, automated SDN tools that don’t depend on proprietary software. The SDN model is open, standards-based, and supplier neutral – rather than using devices and protocols specific to a given network provider, it simplifies network controller design and operation.

Who are local networks for?

Our clients in the area of active local network elements (LAN/SD-LAN) include offices, server rooms, industrial facilities, factories, and logistics and retail centres. We also build software-defined local access networks (SD-LAN); designed mainly for offices and industry, SD-LAN technology allows for the optimization of data transmission within the network.

Data centre networks are designed two technologies – traditional and SDN (Software Defined Network)

  • Software-defined local area networks: Cisco, HPE
  • Local server networks: Cisco and Arista
  • Local industrial networks: Cisco
  • Networks for Cisco ACI and VMWARE NSX data centres

Who are wide area networks (WAN) for?

Our wide area network (SD-WAN/WAN) clients are mainly commercial networks, large industrial facilities, international corporations, government entities, and hospitals with multiple departments and locations.

We build software defined wide area networks (SD-WAN), which allow for easy management and optimization of network traffic.

  •     Cisco and Fortinet wide area networks
  •     Software-defined wide area networks: Cisco

We use Peplink technology and offer wide area network services using either point-to-point or point-to-multipoint architecture, which we build partly or exclusively using LTE connections, grouping multiple SIM cards for higher bandwidth and reliability.

Who is ACI Architecture for?

Created by Cisco, Application Centric Infrastructure is an architecture for data centres and cloud systems. It focuses on meeting the requirements and increasing the efficiency of the applications running in it. ACI is based on open platforms and open source software, which significantly increases the possibilities for its use by Cisco partners.

ACI is the first solution for data centres and cloud systems that offers full monitoring and integrated management capabilities for both physical and virtual IT resources, taking into account current application requirements.

ACI consists of an Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC), Nexus 9000 switches, and an extended version of the NX-OS operating system.

Who are wireless networks for?

Our wireless local area network clients include office buildings, logistics centres, and industrial facilities. In industry and logistics centres, special terrawave antennas are used. These antennas are functionally and physically adapted to various types of building. In the case of wireless networks, we design access point distributions, perform network analyses (site surveys), design and install copper and fibre optic cabling, access points, and antennas, implement configurations, perform as-built radio measurements, and provide training, as-built support, and diagnostic services.

Today, the IT sector is increasingly focused on mobility – providing access to information systems regardless of user location. Mobility, however, entails the need to provide security systems to protect data and devices from unauthorized access.  Trecom specializes in providing solutions based on Apple mobile devices (phones, tablets, laptops) and builds wireless networks integrated with Apple mobile devices.

We implement solutions such as:

  • mobile device management systems using Cisco Meraki devices
  • mobile device security using Sophos anti-malware software
  • a guest access portal for indoor wireless networks – Cisco Meraki

Cisco Meraki is a cloud management solution for local, wide area, and wireless networks, regardless of their size and number of locations. Networks can be managed from anywhere, in much less time than when using traditional solutions. Cisco Meraki is a network platform that allows you to quickly and easily reduce network implementation and maintenance costs, without having to sacrifice security and high functionality.

  • Manage the whole network from one desktop,
  • Monitor users, applications, and devices,
  • Network maintenance without a physical controller or management software,
  • Secure cloud infrastructure (compatible with PCI and HIPAA standards),
  • Various sector – from the SME sector to systems for millions of users.
